Maximising Your Chances of Getting the Right Job: Quality Over Quantity!
Hey Team! đ Corinna here, CocoRio CEO and Co-Founder!
Exciting newsâIâll be answering your questions in both blog and video form. Today, I'm tackling a great question from Chi thatâs probably crossed your mind at some point:
âWhatâs the best way to maximise my chances of getting a job?â
This is especially relevant if you're on the hunt for a recurring role. So, hereâs the short answer: Quality over Quantity!
Hereâs how to ensure youâre putting your best foot forward:
Read the Job Description Carefully: Take note of the key requirements, location, and any travel details. Go ahead, give it a second read. Once youâre sure this is a role youâd be excited about and committed to long-term, itâs time to act.
Express Genuine Interest: If this feels like a great opportunity, click âIâm Interestedâ and add a thoughtful application. Donât skip this stepâmany candidates do! Without a personal note, families are less likely to engage with your profile.
Be Proactive and Responsive: If a family reaches out to arrange a call, respond quickly and be prepared. Have questions ready, show enthusiasm, and be professional.
Trust the Process: Focusing on quality applications rather than a high volume ensures stronger, more lasting job matches. Selectively applying to roles that align with your skills and preferences leads to much better outcomes.
Avoid Wasting Time: Only pursue roles youâre genuinely interested in. Weâre not your typical babysitting agencyâweâre all about creating meaningful connections. Itâs in everyoneâs best interest (yours, ours, and the familiesâ) to be intentional about your choices.
A Note for Ad Hoc Jobs: While this advice primarily applies to recurring roles, itâs also helpful for ad hoc jobs, though thereâs typically more flexibility here.
Professional Conduct Reminder: If you apply indiscriminately to all jobs and your behaviour appears spammy, we reserve the right to close your profile to minimise disruption caused by such unprofessional activity.
