Back to school airfryer recipes under 10 minutes

You’re well into the school routine now but that doesn’t mean things are easy peasy! Don’t worry, we’ve all been there. Starting from worrying about getting the kids to school on time to stressing out about what to pack them for lunch, the list is endless. 

If you are one of the air fryer fanatics, this blog is for you! And if you don’t own one yet, we highly recommend you get one because it’ll make life so much easier. You’ll be able to enjoy fried chicken minus the deep frying, it’ll be guilt free indulging, how cool is that? We have compiled a list of air fryer recipes that you can pack for your little ones in no time and we guarantee it’ll be a hit amongst the youngsters!

Pizza bites

Ingredients needed:

Mozzarella

Marinara sauce

Pepperoni 

Ready rolled pizza dough 

Cooking time:

4-5 mins

A four-ingredient pizza, it doesn’t get easier than this! Cut the dough into 4-inch circles and add sauce, pepperoni and mozzarella to it. Place 3-4 mini pizzas into the air fryer lined with parchment paper and bake at 200 degrees celsius for about 4-5 mins. 

 

Chicken tenders

Ingredients needed: 

Boneless chicken cubes

Eggs 

Flour 

Olive oil spray

Breadcrumbs

Salt & pepper

Parmesan

Garlic powder 

Paprika

Cooking time:

10 mins

Ditch the deep frying and pop your chicken tenders in the air fryer and we promise it’ll still taste amazing! In a bowl whisk the egg and in a separate bowl add the flour, and all remaining dry ingredients. Drench the chicken cubes in the egg mixture then coat them in the dry mixture. Spray the bottom of the basket and the top of the chicken cubes with olive oil and transfer them to the air fryer keeping some space between them. Cook in the air fryer for about 5 mins at 200 degrees celsius per side. This can be made in advance and stored in an airtight container in the fridge overnight. 


Sausage roll

Ingredients needed: 

Sausage

Puff pastry

Eggs

Cooking time:

7-10 mins 

Only three ingredients needed, these delicious sausage rolls will be a hit amongst fussy eaters. Place the sausage on the puff pastry and roll pastry around the sausage. Brush the edges with the egg wash to seal it closed. Using a knife, cut off the excess ends and cut the roll into smaller sausage rolls. Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper and brush the top of the rolls with the egg wash, then cook for about 7-10 mins in the air fryer at 200 degrees celsius. 

Feta nuggets

Ingredients needed: 

Feta cheese

Flour

Breadcrumbs

Chilli flakes

Onion & garlic powder

Egg

Cooking time:

6 mins

Think adult cheese and crackers minus the dryness and blandness. Packed with flavour, these crispy and juicy nuggets will quickly become your kid’s favourite! Combine all the dry ingredients and whisk the egg in a separate bowl. Cut the feta cheese into cubes and dip the cubes into the egg mixture followed by the dry breadcrumb mixture. Line the fryer basket with parchment paper and transfer the feta cubes to the basket. Cook at 180 degrees celsius for 6 minutes or until golden brown.

Potato pancakes

Ingredients needed:

Mashed potatoes

Smoked paprika

Spring onions (diced)

Plain flour

Egg

Salt & pepper

Cooking time:

10 mins

Have some leftover mashed potatoes from yesterday’s dinner? Don’t throw it away just yet, instead make some potato pancakes. It’s super quick and easy.  Add all the ingredients to a mixing bowl and mix well, then form small patties. Transfer the patties to an air fryer basket lined with parchment paper and cook the patties at 195 degrees celsius, 5 minutes per side.
