Emma Jüngling
Emma is a Swiss-French opera singer who recently graduated from the Royal Academy of Music with a Masters Degree in singing. She quickly fell in love with the city's vibrant arts scene and decided to establish herself here in the UK. Emma performs actively around the country as well as abroad in opera productions, solo recitals as well as oratorio performances.
Alongside her singing career, Emma is passionate about bringing classical music closer to diverse audiences and different age groups. She teaches singing as well as tutors French to around 20 children aged 5 to 16 every week. It is important to Emma to expose children to the arts by engaging with their unique imagination. Emma's favourite ways of tutoring are via creative games, story writing and role-playing.
Emma had the chance of leading workshops with children aged 5-12 at the Lausanne Opera House from 2017 to 2019. As well as singing opera arias in full costume and makeup for them, she loved taking them around the opera house and answering all of their questions. Seeing the look in their eyes sparked her interest in working with children. Ever since, she has made teaching and educating an integral part of her life goals.
While she was living in Switzerland doing her Undergraduate degree Emma worked as a part-time babysitter which included caring for a 6 month old baby with down syndrome.
Reliable, playful and organised, Emma and her four younger siblings grew up in a house with constant singing, dancing and drawing. She believes freedom of expression in this way allows children to develop their personalities.
Emma's mother-tongue is French and her knowledge of Italian is good. She also feels comfortable helping out with German homework. She is very happy to support musical practice, no matter the instrument.
