Angus is a musician and actor who branched into the world of education in 2018 with music and English workshops which evolved into a year in China as part of the TEFL scheme. In early 2020 he started working with kids online and loved the challenge of engaging 5-14 year old's in an online teaching environment. Alongside his teaching experience Angus makes use of his knowledge from an MSc in Psychology to understand the differences in worldview that a 6 and 10 year old might have, for example, and uses this to help tailor his practice based on the child’s age.

Moving forward, Angus intends on using his broad and varied music career to educate kids in music the way he wishes he was educated when he was young. In addition to his extensive experience as a musician, Angus has recently started taking on acting work and is currently doing an MA in Actor-Musicianship at the prestigious Rose Bruford college. Angus currently plays a bass as well as an electric guitar and the piano, and, for more of a classical feel, he also plays the cello.

Whether workshops or one-on-one time, Angus will encourage the kids he's working with to take the plunge into the magical world of performing arts. To end this bio we have a few words from Angus about arts education:

“Arts education isn't just to learn how to draw or play an instrument; it teaches us how to look at the world and how to engage with other people in a compassionate and understanding way. It's what makes us human. And through the arts, we can learn to truly understand the meaning of trust, care, sustainability, and diversity.”
