Isabela Pimentel

Since 2014, Isabela has made the city of London her permanent residence. She is a young, talented creative originally from Portugal. Living in London, she is able to cultivate a diverse range of relationships and learn or practice languages such as French, Spanish, Lithuanian, and Polish. In London, Isabela studied art, design, curating, and illustration whilst working for a number of years in the childcare industry.

During her time as an artist, she has done several collaborations and a few exhibitions in Portugal for prestigious festivals.
In 2021, Isabela initiated a Master's in Social Work - Studying and working in the field of social work has helped her become aware of important legislation and all of the safeguarding measures necessary when interacting with service users, especially children.

Although she has always been passionate about assisting and empowering people to achieve the best outcomes for themselves, as a professional, she has acquired significant abilities such as resiliency, empathy, and dependability, in addition to being polite and friendly in any workplace and in life in general.

During her placement with social services, she was able to acquire a vast amount of knowledge about families, including how to complete direct work with children and adolescents using art to help them express their feelings and wishes, as well as create crafts and paintings.

Isabela has worked as a part-time mental health professional with children on the autistic spectrum and with mental health conditions. As part of her responsibilities in this role, she implemented expressive arts-based therapeutic interventions with children in hospital facilities or their own homes.

As an art support worker, Isabela supported a young person in creating sculptures, creative writing, game design, developing portfolios, posters, exhibitions, painting, karaoke, and arts and crafts using television programs that teach children how to produce art.

Isabela is of the opinion that children can improve their ability to express themselves and become more in sync with their feelings by creating art. Bringing her creative and holistic experience to the childcare sector has enabled her to provide an outstanding and unique approach while working with children, as this is the time in their developmental stages during which they are encouraged to express themselves and develop their individual characteristics.
