I'm Eleanor but you can call me Ellie. I have my own part time  costume business making and selling corsets and tutu's online. I have done art and fashion at college completing a BTEC NVQ level 3. I've had nine years of work experience, volunteering and internship as a costume and wardrobe assistant, working behind the scenes of a theatre.  I gained skills making and mending costumes and learning about the fashion industry. I'm now doing NVQ Level 2 in Learning Support and Teaching Assistant at St Vincent College, Gosport, Hampshire and a work placement at a local primary school. I'm also taking online dressmaking and sewing lessons.

I've had two years of experience working with secondary and primary school age children in the art department and with children with special needs at the local primary school.

During my fashion and art studies, I got to undertake work experience at the local art academy in Cosham as an art teacher assistant. I helped the children create garments and art.  I also helped them set-up and use sewing machines, and organise their summer fashion show.

After lockdown, I got to do a six months internship with the government Kick Start Scheme in an Art and Textiles Technician role helping secondary school children with their art and textiles work. I got to make a kimono, friendship bracelets, and put equipment out for lessons. I extended this role as a LSA volunteer at a primary school,  where I made costumes for Dance Live events! I also did creative mindfulness art with a child if they had problems expressing their emotions. I helped with the child's Maths and English. I also set up an art and craft group for the children during lunch time.

For my NVQ Level 3 work placement over at Gomer Junior school, I helped children with their reading, Maths and English. I did active work by making snowflakes and candy canes. I also got to make dolly clothes for my 1:1 and create maths for them. I also got to do games and play dough with them.

Aside from my dressmaking and sewing, I enjoy baking, playing games with the children, reading stories, making dolly clothes or cloth puppets, going to the cinema, going out for walks, playing with play dough, helping with their homework.
