March is the month of WOMEN!

March is the month of WOMEN! From International Women's Day earlier this month to Mother’s day at the end of the week, this month is a celebration! We’ve done a lot of reflecting on the ‘role’ of the woman and of the mother. While society has evolved in many aspects, the stereotypical characteristics of a mother haven’t changed much, and neither have their stereotypical duties in the household. For one, a large majority of childcare duties still fall on mothers. This became evermore apparent in the depth of the Pandemic when parents were asked to work from home, while homeschooling, and parenting all at the same time - an impossible task. But although in many cases both parents were in the same boat, mothers ended up doing the large majority of the homeschooling and other childcare related tasks. And it goes without saying, many of their careers suffered.

It’s not all grim though, the Pandemic has also enabled working mothers to have more of a work/life balance due to hybrid working. In some cases, working from home has enabled mothers and children to enjoy lunch together on weekdays!

While we chat to many mothers on a daily basis - it goes with the nature of our work - this post today is for all women! We’ve come up with some exciting activities for you to take a little bit of time for yourself.

Are you artsy and want to try your hand at being Frida Kahlo for an evening? Do you just need to emerge in a body of water for a lengthy amount of time to forget the real world? Or is nature where you will get your fix?

If you have little ones, we propose booking the kids in with a Creative Cocorio Sitter (guaranteed fun and creativity for the children!) whilst you take your pick at some activities we suggest below:
